The themes that will impact audit work in the future are highlighted today in the international panel discussion “Strategic Audit: International Experience” in St. Petersburg.
Tytti Yli-Viikari, the Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Finland, will speak today in an All-Russia Forum panel about how auditors’ and Supreme Audit Institutions’ (SAIs’) can meet both current and new challenges, while remaining relevant and independent.
The topics of the panel discussion include the change in the work of SAIs and auditors, and the role of SAIs in promoting good governance in the framework of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the national goals and priorities.
Digitalization, data analytics, SDGs, environmental and climate questions, demographic changes, and gender equality are examples of themes that even SAIs are examining more and more broadly.
SAIs have made a commitment to the UN as regards auditing the SDGs: governments’ preparedness to implement them, the actual implementation, and other practical work for promoting the SDGs.
Russia currently holds the presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
