Upcoming publication: Future workforce 2030 – Taking future competence needs into account in the steering system of basic education

The quality and equality of basic education are fundamental for ensuring that the pupils’ entire competence potential will be available to the labour market in the future. The audit assesses the functioning of the steering system of basic education from the highest-level decision-making to the daily life at schools. The key question is whether future competence needs are taken into account in the preparation and implementation of the basic principles for the curriculum. The aim is to examine whether the basic education system effectively promotes the knowledge and skills that are defined in OECD's report ‘Future of Education & Skills 2030’ and that are essential for future competence. The audit is part of an international parallel audit.
