Investigation of economic crimes and recovery of criminal proceeds
Report to be published: 19.11.2026 at 06.45The objective of the audit is to examine whether police investigations of economic crimes and the recovery of criminal proceeds have been effective. The audit examines the target-setting, steering and the appropriateness of resource allocation in police investigations of economic crimes. Current challenges in investigations of economic crimes include long investigation times, a growing backlog, increasing complexity of cases and the adequacy of investigative resources. Changes in the operating environment are also reflected in the development and steering of economic crime investigations.
