Oral health care – preventive oral health care for children and young people in wellbeing services counties

Report to be published: 11.02.2026 at 06.45

The objective of the audit is to examine how preventive oral health services for children and young people are implemented and how the needs of special support and care are met in wellbeing services counties. Prevention and early intervention are effective ways to promote oral health in the population, as addressing oral health issues at an early stage helps to reduce the need for more complicated and costly treatments. As a result of the establishment of the wellbeing services counties, the responsibility for funding public oral health services has largely shifted to the central government.
