Support for informal care of the elderly
Report to be published: 15.04.2026 at 06.45The purpose of the audit is to assess whether the financial objectives set for the support for informal care of the elderly have been achieved. The audit also aims to assess whether it has been ensured that the support and services provided to both caregivers and care recipients are effective and that informal care is an appealing option. Informal care support is one way to promote the social and health policy objective of supporting older people to live at home. Informal care support also aims to generate cost savings either by replacing more expensive care services, such as 24-hour care or regular home care, or by preventing or delaying the need for such services.
