Wellbeing at work among central government staff

Report to be published: 16.12.2026 at 06.45

The objective of the audit is to provide up-to-date information on the steering of wellbeing at work for central government employees and on agencies’ wellbeing at work activities, as well as to assess whether central government employer agencies have the prerequisites for effective wellbeing activities. The audit is targeted at the steering of central government employees’ wellbeing at work and the wellbeing activities of employer agencies.

The wellbeing at work of central government employees affects both the efficiency and costs of operations. Personnel expenditure also constitutes a significant share of central government expenditure. Fragmented steering and an inadequate knowledge base related to wellbeing at work increase the risk that decisions concerning wellbeing at work are neither effective nor consistent. There is also a risk that changes in the work environment and increasing requirements set for work will have a negative impact on wellbeing at work.
